We had our first ever tiny house workshop this past Saturday and it was a great success, so much so we forgot to take pictures until the very end. This was designed as an overview workshop, not a hands on building one, but a discussion on the subjects of design, systems, costs, regulations and the future of the tiny movement. We had a dozen interested and interesting people all come with their questions and experiences, spent much of the day talking and finished with a tour of two of our tiny houses. The weather was cold and rainy, which was fine as it allowed us to show off the wood-stove and winterization of a tiny house that was still warm and toasty 8 hours after the morning fire had been lit.
One of the things that we found most interesting was not just the exchange of information but the beginnings of a network and community building. If the tiny house movement is going to expand it will be from the ground up and we hope these sorts of gatherings will be the foundation.
We would like to offer a huge thank you to everyone who came down, hopefully you all found the day as informative as we did.
We are offering another workshop on November 15th,( Saturday from 10:30-3:00) and we have a few spaces left so please send us an email if you would like to join us then.
